There hasn’t been a better time in years for those of you looking to turn the dream of home ownership into a reality.
One reason it’s a buyer’s market in much of New Hanover County is the large amount of inventory in both resale homes and new construction. If you are looking to buy,there are definitely deals to be had, especially at the beach.
Sellers shouldn’t despair, however. Our local real estate market continues to show signs of strength, especially when compared to other areas of the country. In New Hanover County, we are still noticing a steady increase in the median price of homes. For the period of April-May 2006, the median sales price of a home in New Hanover County was $199,900; the same period this year saw the median sales price rise to $222,000.
